Charles Donald Hodges, age 81, of Ivanhoe, VA, died Saturday, May 27, 2017, at his home.
Mr. Hodges was born September 15, 1935 in Gary, West Virginia to Robert Lindsey and Ida Louvinia Smith Hodges. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Faye Hodges Brown and Barbara Hodges Harrison, brother, Robert Hodges and grandson, Blake Hodges.
Mr. Hodges served his country in the US Navy and was a member of the Hillsville VFW.
He is survived by daughters & son-in-law, Beth Marinus, Wytheville, VA, Katerina & Tim Blair, Ivanhoe, VA; sons & daughters-in-law, Chuck & Robin Hodges, Peach Tree, GA, Ronnie & Debbie Hodges, Galax, VA, Donald Ray & Donna Hodges, Ivanhoe, VA; grandchildren, Christie Gravely, Chelsea Johnson, Timmy Blair, Heather Couch, Kayla Marinus, Macey Hodges, Laken Hodges, Eden Hodges and Caden Hodges; great-grandchildren, Dylan Hale, Hunter Blair, Tristen Blair, Nolan Blair, Gracie Ann Johnson, Leland Dunford, Haley Couch & Madeline Couch, Jordan Hale, Garrett Johnson. Several nieces & nephews and lots of friends, also, survive.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 4:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with burial to follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Military Rites will be performed by Grayson VFW Post # 7726.
