Charles William Hucker

I only recently heard of Charlie's death. I went to high school with him and although I'm not seen him in many years, I still remember him as so warm, funny, and lovable.

Charlie was an old friend for whom his resume gives only a hint of his depth and character. He was funny, warm, thoughtful, devoted, interested, aware, honest, a battler, who in the end had the courage to accept his fate, with incredible grace. He left us too soon, but we won't soon forget him.

Greetings on this day of mixed emotion. We look toward our day to stand ready to enter Heaven, yet those of us left behind, are saddened at our loss. Know that the smile Charlie offered will be always remembered here on earth. God already knows that wonderful smile. You are going to enter a journey toward a 'new normal' that will take some of the most interesting twists and turns. I was the Resident Assistant of the Dormitory where Charles living in his Mizzou days. I was always surprised how he could be a student (a good one) and a reporter for the Star at the same time. He was amazing! I am sorry for you loss and will keep you in my prayers. Rev. Bill Koch
