Not sure what to say?

Charles & l grew up together, our parents were friends & we James (Jimmy) ) & Charles played with toy cars while our parents were deeply involved in the game of Rook. Sweet memories. I never knew when he passed.

Joycie,
Just read your Christmas card, did not know about Charlie's condition. Glad he made a peaceful and dignified transition.

Charles was a keen observer and interpreter of human behavior as well as a wonderful storyteller. "Knights of Spain" is a master work. I treasure the memory of him working on a tiny table at one coffee shop, then another. What a generous spirit.

I enjoyed the Anthropology course I took at UGA the main reason was Dr Hudson. I've thoguht of his class numerous times over the years. He will be missed.

Charlie's legacy lives on in his family, his many students, and his amazing and voluminous research. He was a wonderful mentor and colleague, and will be missed.

Charles was always willing to set aside his books and or papers to 'talk a spell' when I ran into him in a downtown coffee shop or in the shade on North Campus, and topics of conversation covered anything from Athropology to a favorite type of ink pen. Considerate and easy going, Athens community will miss him. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

My classes with Charles changed my life. My condolences to Joyce and all who feel similarly.

I am thankful to have known Dr. Charles Hudson and to have had a class with him. As a graduate student at UGA in an Ethnohistory course, he introduced me to the "Longue Duree" which completely changed the way I conceptualize history and archaeology. My thoughts are with his family and friends...he was an eminent scholar and will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Dr. Hudson's passing. He was a very nice neighbor. M L Segers-Phillips, Danielsville, GA
