Me, Charlie and Kenny in our barracks - 02/07/53

My deepest condolences on the passing of Charlie. I was in the Marine Corps. with him stationed at El Toro in 1952 thru 1953. Charlie, myself and another marine named Bill Peoples shared a cubicle in the barracks. Our squadron was VMF-N-542. I last saw Charlie before I was shipped to Korea in December, 1953.

It was a great pleasure knowing and working with Charlie for that short period of our lives. Included is a snapshot of left to right, me, Charlie and Kenny taken in our barracks...

Carla and Family, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad, I will never forget your Dad he was always so nice to me whenever I was around him, he always made me feel welcome and I am glad that I had the chance to be around him the few times that I did. May you find comfort and peace in this time of sorrow.

I am so sorry to hear that Charlie passed away. I worked with Charlie for many years at NSWSES. He was a great employee and lots of fun to work with. I too have many fond memories. My sincere condolences to you all.

We are sad to read of Charlie's passing. We have fond memories of he and the Ilg family - when we were neighbors.

Our thots and prayers are with all of the Ilg family members.
