CHARLES 'JACK' JACKSON JR.
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina — Charles "Jack" Jackson, Jr., 76, of North Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Fairmont, NC passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer surrounded by family.
Jack was born on June 22, 1946, in Roseboro, NC to the late Charles and Vista Floyd Jackson. He grew up in Shelby, NC and graduated from Wake Forest University before enlisting in the US Army and serving in Vietnam. He moved to Robeson County, NC where he farmed for over 45 years. Jack was a well-respected member of the farming community known for his knowledge and honesty.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Brown Jackson, daughter, Meredith Homlotis (Brad), sons, Adam Jackson and Jeff Cernugel; grandchildren, Joseph Homlotis, Emily Homlotis and Davis Cernugel; sisters, Peggy Turner, Brenda Floyd, Cheryl Jones (Jack) and Laura Jackson (Greg Barnes). He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Vista Jackson and sister, Frances Smith. Poppy, as he is known to his grandchildren, will be missed by all!
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Agape Hospice Care at 3009-B Church Street, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
Private funeral services will be held at a later date, as well as, a Celebration of Life gathering. A guestbook is available at www.leefhandcrematory.com.
