JOHNSON, Charles Edward Of Flint, age 63, went to be with the Lord after his battle with glioblastoma brain cancer on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Roosevelt Brown officiating. Entombment at Sunset Hills Cemetery-Chapel of the Angels, Father Thomas Firestone officiating. Visitation 4-8 pm Wednesday, 11am-2pm and 4-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the American Brain Tumor Association in memory of Charles. Charles was born in Prescott, Arkansas on December 29, 1952, the son of the late Sherman and Cleo (Fellows) Johnson. On October 2, 1976 he married Linda Adams of Davison. Charles was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, going to the casino, trips to Mackinaw and he loved his Detroit Tigers. He also was a proud UAW member and worked for GM Truck and Bus for 42 years before retiring on June 30, 2013. Charles loved watching his grandsons in their sports events and very seldom missed a game. Charles was respected by all that knew him, by his great smile, laughter, his great story telling, and for being a man of integrity. Surviving are wife, Linda; daughters, Nichelle and husband Lawrance Morrison and baby girl Elisha Johnson; his beloved grandsons, Grant and Gabriel Morrison; brothers, John (Ann) Johnson and Douglas Johnson; sisters, Bertha (Richard) Burton, Birdie Mae (Roosevelt) Brown; sister-in-law, Annie Johnson; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many special friends. He was preceded in death by grandmother, Ada Fellows, brothers, Roscoe and David Johnson; nephew, Bernard Johnson and special friend, Frank Adams. A special thank you to Reverence Hospice. We are so saddened to read about Charles passing. Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Praying for the comfort only God can give,Charles was such a great guy with the most infectious laugh.We have a lot of great memories of times past at Trinity for sure.

Sorry to hear of the passing of "Grand Dad" as Titus would always refer. He ran the race and fought fearlessly the battle. He's the Champion, resting peacefully now. Linda, Nichelle, Elisha I'm am so very sorry for your loss. Many of my childhood memories are filled with playing at the house on wolcott street. I always remember Charles as a loving family man. I have very fond memories of Charles back when Frank and I use to hang out with you guys! Sorry for yours and every ones loss but we know Charles has gone to be with my best friend and your nephew Frank. I know they will have a fantastic time together in Heaven! I always looked up to Charles as a great guy with his awesome laugh. Have fun with our buddy Frank. I'll see you some day and we'll all hang out again like we use to and laugh.
