Charles Edward Keefe

COLUMBIA%%Services for Charles Edward Keefe, 82, of Columbia, will be held at 2pm Wednesday in Columbia First Seventh-day Adventist Church, officiated by Pastor Charles Hindman. Burial will follow at Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Columbia First Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Mr. Keefe died Monday, June 14, 2004. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late William Chandler and Hattie Teal Keefe. A lifetime area resident, he was a 1941 graduate of Olympia High School where he lettered in five sports. Mr. Keefe was an avid sportsman and especially enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He was a member of Columbia First Seventh-day Adventist Church and was retired from Wickes Lumber & Building Supply.

Surviving are his wife, Lois Keefe of Columbia; daughter, Kitty Lee Keefe of Columbia; sons, Van Steven Keefe and Charles David Keefe, both of Columbia; grandchildren, Terrie Gaines, Sherri Dowd, Charles Dustin Keefe; great grandchildren, Brittney and Bethany Gaines.

Mr. Keefe was predeceased by two sisters, Mary and Leona; and four brothers, Willie, Claude, Ramon, and Jim Keefe.
