Chuck´s birthday reminder popped up on my calendar again this year. I think of my old friend often. We go way back from Sunday School, Little League, High School all the way to ringing the Salvation Army bell as old retired guys then having a few beers. Lifelong friend. That has value.

We are very sorry to learn of Chuck's passing. We always enjoyed traveling with both of you. Gayle will miss sitting and talking with Chuck when they were resting.

Chuck is a lifelong friend of mine. We met in Sunday School, played Little League and high school football together. He stuck football out longer than I did. We went our separate way for our working years but got back together when Chuck and his family moved back to Portage. We shared our experiences and swapped stories about the good 'ol days overs beers and Holiday Salvation Army bell ringing. I'll remember Chuck for the rest of my days. Chuck was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was however much more. He was very bright and professionally accomplished. He was an astute observer and judge of people. He was a student of politics and the economy who could discuss sophisticated ideas without demanding that others agree with him. His wit was razor sharp and nuanced, as was his dry sense of humor.
