Not sure what to say?

Can't recall smuggled wine in paper bags. Now, balsamic vinegar... We will never forget you, Chuck.

Remembering Chuck LaMere with gratitute and affection. He touched many lives in the US and Ireland and I have lovely memories of visiting in 42nd St. How he loved Irish traditional music and 'sessions' in the Irish bar near his home! Chuck has left a legacy - a multi-faced one.

I knew Chuck well from the Plough and Stars Irish music sessions. Every musician who played there with any regularity was a recipient of his generosity, and his encouragement for our music. Every time I played there, I looked out for him, and up until his health started to slip, he was nearly always there. On seeing him, I knew I was assured of at least one listener, and of friendship and conversation.

I am among those who mourn the passing of Chuck Lamere. During my years as at Berkeley, the home of Chuck and Mary Ann became my second home. Their generosity and hospitality was proverbial. Through them I got to know members of their extended family and all the beauty spots in San Francisco and beyond. Chuck leaves an amazing legacy. May he rejoice in the company of the saints! Mass will be offered here in Ireland on 7 July.

Chuck & MaryAnn were the most amazing couple. They were two single who were very happy with their life, but when met they won the jackpot. Rest in peace Chuck.
