Not sure what to say?

Twenty years ago, Dr. Landrum gave me the opportunity of a lifetime by asking me to join him, and the initial leadership team, that opened of the Vannie E Cook Jr Children's Cancer & Hematology Clinic. It was the beginning of one of the most important and special relationships of my life. He taught me about leadership, philanthropy, charity, compassion, service and love. I was so blessed to have him in my life for so long and I will never, ever, forget Dr. Landrum. I loved him and admired him...

I was so pleased to meet with my cousin Ken (who we called "Sonny") and Carolyn in Austin several years ago. They were in town for a wedding, but he took time to attend my Aunt Edith Champion's funeral while they were in town. My father, Doug Smith, thought the world of Sonny. Dr. Landrum delivered my nephew, Ray Heflin, when Karen and and stepbrother Ronnie Heflin lived in Weslaco. Karen said he took such wonderful care of her. So sorry I did not get more time with him. We will miss him.

I am saddened to learn of the passing of Sonny Landrum, my cousin and life-long inspiration.

When I was very young, I remember Sonny visiting our home in Ft. Worth, and even as a child I knew that he was exceptional, engaging, and highly accomplished. Our family kept a picture of Sonny on our mantle, very crisp, handsome, and quite impressive in his A & M University Cadet uniform.

My Dad (Cookie Pfannkuche) very fond of Sonny, and he and Sonny teased one another,...

A man of integrity, strength and kindness, Ken was a shining star in my life since I first met him at a father-daughter weekend for PI Phi at SMU in the 1970’s. Senior Partner at Landrum-Chester OB-GYN and Associates, the marvelous practice that brought me to the Valley to make my home for the past 36 years. Ken has remained a friend throughout the years, and even closer as I joined the Vannie Cook Cancer Foundation Board some years ago. I will love Ken always and will miss him so very...

Saddened to hear of the passing of Dr Landrum. I offer my sincere condolences and prayers through this difficult time to his family. May he rest in peace. I am grateful to have had Dr Landrum as my Dr. for 20+ yrs. where he and his staff were awesome.

Dearest Leslie and Mary and family. Dr.Landrum has a place in my heart. He added me to the office staff in 1970 and I enjoyed every day thru Dec. 95. A gifted physician, professional and personable he touched so many lives. He looked forward to his weekly men's bible study. He beamed at the birth of his grandchildren! He had friendly spats with Dr. Chester when UT Austin played Texas AM....My prayers will continue for all of you.......Sincerely Mrs. Arnoldo C . (Bea) Vento Austin, Tx
