I agree the picture captures Chuck perfectly...... the Landskroner family moved to Eugene in 1953 from San Jose just in time for Chuck to enroll at the grand opening of the new Eugene High School. EHS was a 3 year school and I entered at the same time as a sophomore while Chuck entered as a senior which usually would be hard for a new student to come in not knowing anybody there.... but I think Chuck became well known within his first few days and by the end of the school year he could...

I first met Chuck when he was the head of the Realtors Association and I appeared before an election endorsement committee. While we weren't always in agreement over issues, I found he was open , honest and always did his homework. Later we became friends on a social basis forming the Cutter Club, a group of folks who enjoyed the occasional cigar, whihc in Chuck's case as more than occasional.
The ultimate Duck fan we would exchange digs at one another as I graduated as a Beaver; I think...

The posted photo of Chuck is perfect! My shock was overwhelming this morning when I read the news of Chuck's passing. I worked for him back in the early to mid 70's at the Housing Authority of Portland. I grew to respect his wisdom. I remember discovering "evidence" that his sons had been playing in my office..now grown men. My most sincere sympathies to the family. Chuck's sense of humor is his most endearing legacy.
