1930 - 2010
Newmarket- Charles W. Lang Jr., 79, of Langs Lane, died September 28, 2010 at the Exeter Hospital.
Born Dec. 5, 1930 in Newmarket, NH, he was the son of Charles W. and Dorothy (Reynolds) Lang. He was a graduate of Newmarket High School, Class of 1948, and attended UNH. At an early age Charlie worked with his dad and brothers selling ice, and he then worked at the Macallen Company.
During the Korean Conflict, Charlie joined the US Air Force. He earned the rank of Staff Sargeant.
Charlie worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as an outside machinist in Shop 38, and retired as a Metal Trades Instructor. He then worked at UNH in Facilities Services.
Charlie was an avid collector and was a member of Rising Star Lodge #47 F&AM, the Robert G. Durgin American Legion Post #67, Lamprey Aerie #1934 FOE, and a former member of the Dover Elks.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Audrey (Hawkins) Lang; two sons, Charles W. Lang III and his wife Judy, and Alaric C. Lang and his wife Tammy; 4 grandchildren, Nichole Lang, Erica Constantineau, Rachel Forbes and Michael Lang; 2 great grandchildren, Trinity and Elijah Forbes; 3 brothers, Theodore, David and Gilbert Lang; 2 sisters, Lois Beaulieu and Patsy Hawkins; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Beatrice Lang.
Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Friday, October 1 at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter Street, Newmarket. American Legion Services will be held at 7 p.m., followed by Masonic Services.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home.
Following cremation a Graveside Service with military honors, will be held on Monday at 3 p.m. in Riverside Cemetery, Newmarket.

Chip, Ric and Mrs. Lang: I am sorry for your loss. I did not know Mr Lang, however I did know his sons, and he raised wonderful sons, so that tells me that he was a great man.
