LAURIE, Charles - Of Grand Blanc, age 90, died Wednesday, December 4, 2019.
Funeral service will be held 11am Monday, December 9, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Father Robert Copeland officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Operation Smile.
Visitation 5-7pm Sunday at the funeral home. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Sunday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 9am Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Charles was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 10, 1929, the son of the late Joseph and Violet (Bailey) Laurie. Charles served honorably in the United States Army. He was employed with General Motors SPO in Swartz Creek for 45 years. Charles enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings.
Surviving are wife of 58 years, Elizabeth;
And his son, John.

I first met Charles when I stopped in one fall day to ask him if I could have the leaves he was sending to yard waste for my garden. That led to a friendship I enjoyed with him and his wife. I'm sorry to learn of his passing. I shall miss his smile and the talks we had. May GOD be a source of comfort and strength to you going forward.
