One brief encounter with Papa beside your pool two summers ago endeared him to me forever, probably because I felt endeared by him, even though he was unsure who I was! What a rare gift, to convey love to the person in front of you, without condition. What a rare legacy of how to Be he leaves his children and grandchildren.

Although we only knew him briefly, we liked Papa right away. He was a warm person who made us feel welcomed from the minute we met him. He had that twinkle in his eye and the love for his family was obvious. How wonderful to have had such a light in your lives. You were the best grandfather anyone could ask for. You were always there to listen and laugh with a big smile on your face.
