I got hooked on fly tying at an introductory class Charlie taught at Rod Builders Workshop called “Plymouth Bay Favorites”. He had all kinds of great names for his flies, the Percy Special, the Black Widow and my favorite, the Mummichug Mumbler. I first met Charlie at Rodbuilders Workshop in Kingston, Ma. He was the perfect gentleman and one of the best anglers this land lubber has ever come across.

He was a class act and a huge influence to me.

I had the great pleasure of working and fishing with Charlie. He was an incredible fisherman and fly tyer, but even a better friend. He will be greatly missed.

Charlie was a very special person who had a smile for all those he met. The fishing community will miss Captain Charlie, but I am sure that Charlie will be exploring new waters in a very special place.
