Dear Mimi and family,

On behalf of all of the remaining Churches, I send the most deeply heartfelt condolences. Charles was a force in all of our lives, from being a great "uncle" to the kids to being a true, lifelong friend to our parents. He was always warm, wise, funny, and loving, and meant so very much to all of us. Sending you lots of love and good wishes.

Dear Mimi,

Something made me think of Charles here on May 10. I decided to Google him and I found out he had left this Earth one month ago. It was in 1982 that he hired me to type at his Columbus Circle office saying that Juilliard students were harder workers than any temps he could find. :)

Dear Lieber Family, my sincerest condolences on the passing of Mr. Lieber. I have so many fond memories of him from my days at the Spencertown Store - the way he said my name, the tickle of that bushy mustache when he'd give me a smooch, the smell of his pipe, and how he always told a good story -one of my favorites and oh, how I looked forward to seeing him. Sending you all my warmest thoughts and prayers for comfort - his memory is strong and will live on in so many. Blessings to you...

Mimi -- I was so very sad to hear about Charles. Such a kind, courtly and elegant gentleman: he always made me feel like royalty when I visited your home on 79th. I will remember him very fondly. My condolences to you and the children.

Such a cultivated, warm and generous gentleman. Remembering his kindness and engagement with our family. Deeply felt condolences to his family.

Dear all, So very sorry to hear this sad news. I was always extremely fond of Charles and loved the sound of his deep, familiar voice in person or on the phone. Sending much love and sympathy, Amanda
