Charles was an inspiration to me. His positive attitude made me want to be in his presence at the Scottish Highland Games at Loch Norman and Grandfather. I am glad that I knew him.

Charles was a valuable member of Clan Moffat. When I first met him at the Loch Norman Highland Games in the 1900s, he was already a band legend. He is missed for his inspiration and guidance.

I am grateful to have known Charles. His generous spirit will be treasure.

He asked me how I spell Moffitt and I told him that my Moffitt ancestors from Randolph County spelled it "Moffitt". He liked that idea.

I remember him leading the massed bands at Grandfather. His entire body revealed the joy he had as a band leader and a person. I am happy that I have that memory.

My only regret is not attending one of his suppers at his home of Lake Norman. I am sure that...

What a wonderful man of God. It was my joy to have grown up, looking up to this man and his loving wife Betty. They made our Church a home, at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Much love to the family. Kim Buchanan.
