Smith Family Funeral Home - Fallon Obituary

Charles Richard Lippert, age 70, passed away peacefully on April 18th, 2021 in Fernley, NV. Charles was born to Charles (Vincent) and Betty Lippert on September 8, 1950 in Northwood, North Dakota.
Charles spent his first 35 years in Aneta, North Dakota where he grew up with his 5 siblings and also met his wife, Julie Lippert.  He spent his younger years on the family farm with his uncle Bernard and dad, Vinnie.  During those years, he developed his interest in mechanics, machinery, tools, problem solving and a work ethic that has served throughout his life as a respected Jack-Of-All-Trades.  Charles and Julie had 3 children while residing in North Dakota and moved to Fernley, NV in 1986 where they raised their children and have lived for the past 35 years. He spent his entire career as a loyal and hard-working union pipefitter where he would eventually enjoy 10 years of retirement.
Charles was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. His hobbies included visiting with anyone and everyone, motorcycles, and tinkering. He loved to stay busy and will be remembered for his willingness to help anyone who needed it. He was the handy person we could all depend on; the first call.   Charles would spend many of his summers back in Aneta.  His family and friends will miss his visits, friendship and how much he gave back to the community. He truly had a ‘gift of gab’ and was a master of handy work.  While in Aneta, he could also be found roaming with the farm animals; a free spirit if you will.  We will miss getting the lengthy videos of him with the horses and calves.
Charles was also an Army Vietnam Veteran who served his country from 1971 -1972. He wore that proudly and gave back when he was able.  He also had a passion for motorcycles and was able to spend 20+ years of his adult life riding and meeting people who shared this interest.
Throughout his life, Charles built relationships beyond his family; with acquaintances, neighbors, and strangers.  He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and siblings dearly and was always proud. He was genuinely interested in and curious about what everyone was doing. Big or small, everything held value. If there were words to describe him, they would undoubtedly include loyal, hard-working, dependable, and slightly stubborn. Charles will be missed dearly by all. Memorial services will be held at the Veteran’s Cemetery, Fernley, NV, on Friday, May 28 at 12:30.
