Not sure what to say?

I've always known that anyone my mother and father admired as much as they admired Charles had to be a very special person. George and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to get to know him. I know he's greatly missed here, but I know Dad and many other wonderful people are happy to have him with them.

My deepest sympathies to your family on the loss of a man I always held in the highest regards. R B Anderson (LCDR, MSC, RET)

Charles was a special and dear friend. We will always remember his love, compassion, and caring nature for all fortunate enough to be part of his life. He will truly be missed.
Our sincere thoughts for comfort, peace, and love to Charlotte.
Mary Louise Van Landingham and family

I first met RAdm Loar when he was a newly commisioned LT at NNMC Bethesda. He was a great leader even back then. Our paths crossed many times through out my career. Each time he was a fantastic mentor willing to provide leadership and guidance.
LCDR Frederick M. Knox MSC USN (Ret).

Charles was a fine man and Naval officer. He was a friend who will be missed. Rest your oars, Shipmate.

It was an incredible honor to meet Rear Admiral Charles Loar at his son's (Senior Chief David Loar) retirment ceremony a couple of years ago. I found him to be a very kind and humble man. I wish his family all the peace and comfort possible during this very difficult time.

David,
I was sad to hear about the loss of your father. I know you were very proud of him and he was proud of you as his son. We will be praying that God will provide you, Wendy and your family peace and comfort as He has done for us with the loss of my father 11 days ago when he marched into heaven. We have been blessed to have had such wonderful and loving dad's.

I always knew Charles was an amazing man but am even more in awe after reading his life story. What I loved the most about him was the endless love he and Charlotte shared daily. They made the most ordinary events a true celebration of being together in love. I learned of his extremely loving and generous nature before formally meeting him and had already named him "Sweetie." It was heartbreaking to see the affects of illness on his quality of life over the past months. Though I am so...

Charlotte, though Bob and I didn't have a chance to get to know Charles well, we feel as if we did through Janie's love for the two of you. You and Charles have meant so much in her life, and we have felt a true connection with y'all through the years. You've always been there for her, and we thank God for the love you both showed Janie. We are saddened for your loss. You have so many wonderful memories of your years together. May God give you comfort as you recall his love for you, and what...
