I first met RAdm Loar when he was a newly commisioned LT at NNMC Bethesda. He was a great leader even back then. Our paths crossed many times through out my career. Each time he was a fantastic mentor willing to provide leadership and guidance.

It was an incredible honor to meet Rear Admiral Charles Loar at his son's (Senior Chief David Loar) retirment ceremony a couple of years ago. I found him to be a very kind and humble man. I wish his family all the peace and comfort possible during this very difficult time.

I always knew Charles was an amazing man but am even more in awe after reading his life story. What I loved the most about him was the endless love he and Charlotte shared daily.
