Obituary

Mr. Charles Frederick "Fred" Lovell, 80, of Winston-Salem died Friday, March 14, 2003, at the W.G. "Bill" Hefner Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salisbury. Mr. Lovell was a successful entrepreneur as a partner in Lovell's Town and Country Cleaners in Pilot Mountain. He owned and operated Fred Lovell's Signs in Winston-Salem for over 30 years. He loved fresh water and salt water fishing and caught trophies in both categories both domestically and internationally. As a hobbyist, he also built award-winning model airplanes and enjoyed teaching his sons the skill of building and operating model planes, boats and trains. As an artist, he always shared his talents with his children. Above all, he loved and adored his children. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at Lovell's Chapel United Methodist Church in Pilot Mountain. Surviving Mr. Lovell are his brother, James Floyd Lovell of Pilot Mountain, sons Clayton C. Lovell of Charlotte, Charles F. Lovell Jr., M.D., of Chesapeake, Va., and John Reginald "Reggie" Lovell of Winston-Salem; daughters Precious Lovell of Doha, Qatar, and April Kinard and Rene Grisset, both of Orlando, Fla.; daughter-in-law Barbara Tuck Lovell, Esq., of Chesapeake, Va.; grandchildren Mark East, M.D., of Durham, Cherry Lovell of Winston-Salem, Sarah Lovell of Chesapeake, Va., Tiffany Kinard and Nicole Grisset of Orlando, Fla., and Johnny Lovell of Stockton, Calif.; and great-grandchildren Kia McCullar and Alex Luther, both of Winston-Salem and Thomas East of Durham. Mr. Lovell was predeceased by a grandchild, Amber Lovell of Lemoore, Calif. The family expresses sincere gratitude for your condolences and expressions of sympathy. Additionally, we thank the staff at the W.G. "Bill" Hefner Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center for the love and care that they provided to Mr. Lovell during the final years of his life. Memorials may be made to the W.G. "Bill" Hefner Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center or to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are being handled by Memorial Funeral Chapel, 5980 Kinney Road, Winston-Salem.

April and renee and familyI'm sorry the hear about the lost of your father. I remember when he took us to the beach june 1980 we had a lot of fun, i sure he will be missed by everyone. My family is praying for your family. may god's blessing be with you always. love veronica belcher and family.
