Charles R. MacCrone

I worked with Chuck at NASA/MSFC in the early 1960's. He was a very friendly and knowledgeable engineer and mentor. He taught me a great deal. I enjoyed his tales of his skydiving adventures.

Chuck was a great neighbor. He was kind, generous and always entertaining to my husband and me. Our acquaintance though briefer than we would have wished has given us fond memories of a special person who will be greatly missed.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones with the hope that wonderful memories of time spent with this special person will give you comfort.

Chuck was a friend and mentor for many at HEMSI. His ability to take on the work of a paramedic at 70 yrs old was an inspiration. He served this community well.

Chuck was a generous neighbor and a close friend for almost two decades. We spent dozens of evenings on the Lanai, sharing a whisky, a cigar, and conversation. We didn't always agree, but our differences were never bitter or angry. We liked each other too much for that. So tonight I'm drinking a single malt to my friend. It's one more jump for you, then you're home. I'll always keep the Chuck step clear and a whisky glass ready for you, just in case.

Chuck and I became friends during the spring of 1962. The occasion was the formation of the original HUNTSVILLE SKYDIVERS CLUB. Chuck was one of my first and most enthusiastic students. He quickly distinguished himself not only by his ability to quickly master skydiving, but by improving the sport of parachuting through his later involvement and long service as an officer with the Federation Aeronautique Internationale. I am grateful to have had the pleasure of knowing him for a short period of time. Such a nice person. He shared some funny stories with me and my husband.

To the MacCrone Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

Chuck was a friend. Worked on the TOW program with him. A man of many talents and interests. Enjoyed seeing him at the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra events.....he knew the classics!! He will be missed.
