Charles (L) and brother Arnold Mackey (R) stand by the Ellen E & Son B-25 Bomber which saw Combat in WW2. We took a flight from the Kalamazoo Airport to over Lake Michigan and back.

A tremendous artist and cartoonist! I am sad to read this notice of death of one of my best friends, Charlie Mackey. I worked with Charlie in 1976 at the newspaper in Newport News, VA and it was called the Daily Press and Times Herald". I was an artist as was Charlie. I'll always remember the fun times we had as brothers,Charles and our years of playing Baseball at Portage Little League and Portage Senior League!

I am Charles's brother,Arnold who remembers playing on the same Baseball Team together in Portage Senior League which we both enjoyed very much! We also played for separate Teams in Portage Little League prior to that. Charles was a talented Artist from his School Days in Portage,MI. and worked at the Kalamazoo Gazette as a Political Cartoonist. He made some Drawings of Myself from My Boxing Days. It is sad that he has passed away but hopefully he is in a better place now with the Lord God.

Charlie had such an easy going disposition and a great sense of humor, and it was magic when he had paper and pencil in hand. I have a box with memorabilia from my time in the Air Force. Included in my collection are sketches of my then two...
