Not sure what to say?

Syd was best man at my sister and Ron Browards wedding. At 9 years younger, Ron, Syd and their high school freinds included me in their trips to the nearest field to toss the football around. They were a tough bunch of guys but I always will remember hanging out with them.

I have only recently come to appreciate my legacy with the LBRFC and Syd Manning. It's sad that I was a few months too late to express my appreciation for his contribution to my (our?) life. We were blessed to have him touch our time here on earth.

I distinctly remember yor forebearance with Syd's lust for life and rugby. For me those were magical days.

I love you Barbara for sharing him with me.

Our neighborhood in Downey has not been the same since the Manning family moved. We miss you Syd. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Manning family.

Syd was one of the teachers at Los Padrinos that I've always remembered. A great inspiration to all.

Syd you will be missed by many. Our own Burt Reynolds! (Mardi, Lori and Linda know what I'm talking about) I love you! Love, Kim

Syd was a great friend of my late husband Bill. I have many fond memories of he and Barbara. I always loved his zest for life and... he was so much FUN! Rest in peace, Syd.

Syd was a good man and a great teammate. He played any game with great passion and intensity. If I was in a tight situation I would want Syd at my side!!!!!

Syd Manning: A good man, husband and father. When he gets in the game of rugby, upstairs, hold tightly to the the ball 'cause you're going to get hit. He might even have a smile on his face. For sure, the smile will be there with the conclusion of the match having a brewski. mahalo and keep paddling, tom hermstad
