Please accept my and my family's deepest sympathy on the death of Ambassador Marthinsen. I was a freshman when Chuck was a junior at Gannon. He was Editor of the school paper and the undisputed intellectual leader of the student body. I also did have some indirect contact with some clerical matters later in his career.
As a matter of opinion, he was my choice as the outstanding American representativein the Middle East.
