Not sure what to say?

Charles was a friend, colleague. I gave him his first one man show in my modest Chelsea, NYC gallery. I believed in him, his artwork, vision of justice. May he Rest In peace. He made his mark in this world. My condolences to his Mother and Sister.

My condolences to the whole family of Charles. He was a bright light to many. He will not be forgotten.

My condolences to your entire family. I am so sorry I could not be their.

I learned the devastating news on Sunday. It has taken me till now to even be able to write a sentence about what I should have had another 50 years to prepare for.

I met Charles on a beach in Montego Bay in 1987. We had a fun filled week in the sun including a night of dancing at Reggae Sunsplash. We maintained a relationship post beach that introduced me to Baltimore, New York, the art world, his friends and sushi. Distance took its toll but Facebook bridged the gap. Over the years...

I was saddened to learn of the loss your beloved Charles. We were in high school together in Binghamton. We were also teammates in Legion Baseball.

May your many happy memories of Charles see you through difficult days ahead. And may his family and loved ones take solace in the legacy of his art, gift to us all.

Though we didn't get to spend much time together, I will always remember and feel blessed to have experienced your sweet spirit and wonderful artwork. Love and prayers to the entire McGill family. Cousin Deborah

My love and prayers are with you Louise, your entire family, and all of Charles' loved ones. This world would be a better place if there were more souls like Charles' populating it. <3
