Charles McMillen Obituary

CHARLES E. McMILLEN Age 87, of Rancho Cucamonga, passed away on July 4, 2011 in Rancho Cucamonga, California. It is appropriate that he passed away on Independence Day, as a soldier he valued our freedom and now he is truly free. He was a member of the 78th Infantry Division, 311th Infantry Regiment in World War II, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge and receiving a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Charles was a Godly man who loved his family and his country. He is survived by his daughters, Diana Lynn Grout, Maureen Celeste Sable and her husband Bill and Lavonne Joy Stevens and her husband Bob. Charles will be missed by his grandchildren, Michael, Heather, Sean, Shelly, Matthew, Benjamin and Stafanie and his eleven great-grandchildren. A private service will be held next week for Charles McMillen at the Riverside National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asked for any donations to be sent to: Compassion International, Colorado Springs, CO 80997 or www.compassion.com.

Grandpa you will truly be missed but I do have peace knowing you are up there with Grandma and Uncle Al. Love you and will miss you always.

We enjoyed knowing and talking to Chuck in worship and fellowship opportunities at Bible Fellowship Church in Hemet. We had a common interest in singing in barbershop and had fun talking about that, too. We've thought about him and wondered about him many times these past few years and appreciate this special time to remember him with thanks that we knew him.
