Not sure what to say?

Fr. McTague was one of the parish priests at St John´s in Fairview where I was a student from 1962-1970. He was a truly holy man. He used to drive a big van around and pick up local kids to help him help others. I worked on the Peace Ship along with others scraping paint. He once took me and a few other kids to the famous Francis tavern and restaurant in NYC to procure donations for his many charity´s. Good memories, good man, I´m sure God welcomed him into Heaven with open arms

With hands-on exuberance, Father Charlie was an exemplar of love for his fellow man.

The Father was a dear friend, I knew him since childhood. As my family lived opposite the St John church in Fairview NJ. Unfortunately the last contact I had with him was 1980, he was a joy, a true Saint.

REV. Charles McTague pray for me.

He was an amazing person, never kept anything for himself . Father used to take us in his old bread truck and deliver things to people in need. They were great life lessons that have stayed with me all my life. I remember one time a man gave him a brand new pair of shoes and said promise me you will keep em and not give the away, he said ok. After the man left he told us its not a lie if you give them to someone who needs it more than you. What was impressive about this was his shoes were so...

Why I received this e-mail I will probably never know, but I decided to keep his Legacy Book open permanently. In these days of crisis for the Catholic Priests , I think people who have access to Father's Legacy Book will find stories about this priest that may conjure up fond memories of their relationships with the parish priest in years past. This...

Father Charles knew my uncle Fr. Silvester Livolsi of happy memory. I had the great pleasure of a 40 minute telephone conversation with this wonderful priest about a year before he passed to his eternal reward. I called him at the nursing home and asked him about his trip to see Albert Einstein. I only wish I had recorded it.

He mentioned how happy he was on the train ride back home from Princeton and how he composed a "ditty to the Most Holy Trinity" on the trip.

If any...

Dear Fr.McTague:

Our family's fondest memeory of you, when you came to our home on Jersey Avenue to offer prayers for our then beautiful sister, mother and daughter Maryann, 35yrs old, dying of cancer. I was washing the kitchen floor when you rang the bell unexpectantly. You came right into the kitchen, took the mop from my hands and began to wash the floor while explaining to my nephew that you had swabbed many decks and it was " a mans job to swab the deck". I was forever grateful...
