Charles J. Noversel, Jr., 89, of Roseto, passed away, Saturday, January 27, 2024. He was the husband of 62 years of Rose (Cerino) Noversel.
Born in Northampton, January 24, 1935, he was the son of the late Charles and Anna (Franitz) Noversel.
Charles was raised in Nazareth and was a 1953 graduate of Nazareth High School. After his marriage in 1961, he spent the next 62 years of his life living in Roseto, becoming an “honorary son of Roseto”.
Charles dutifully served his country in the US Army from 1957 to 1960. He was a retired insurance agent for Peoples Security Life. Previous to this job he was a long time employee of Abbott’s Dairy.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Roseto and a member of the Fr. DeNisco Council of the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed tinkering with cars, watching sports and playing cards with his twin sisters, Nancy and Roseann and their husbands Roger and Ralph.
In addition to his wife, Rose, he is survived by two daughters, Laura A. Martin and her husband James J. of Nazareth, and Norma Jean Koch and her husband Chris of Pen Argyl. He was a wonderful “Poppy” to his five grandchildren, Emily C. Martin Fickes and her husband Michael, Sarah E. Schnitzler and her husband Zackary, Daniel J. Koch, Madelyn G. Koch, and Vincent J. Koch, and one great granddaughter, Zoey R. Schnitzler. He is also survived by two sisters, Roseann Yob and Jane Jones both of Nazareth and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother Robert and two sisters, Nancy Herman and Ann Welty.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Saturday February 3, 2024 at 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, 300 W. Babbitt Avenue, Pen Argyl. There will be a viewing Saturday, beginning at 9:30 until 10:45 AM Saturday at the church. Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Roseto. The Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, Pen Argyl is in charge of arrangements.
