Charles R. Noyes, Sr. “Pic”, age 78, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, NH. He is at peace, after fighting a brave, courageous battle, for several years, with leukemia, prostate, spinal cancer and many other serious health issues.

Born May 10, 1928 and raised in Laconia, son of the late Wesley and Elisabeth (Clay) Noyes, he was a lifelong resident of NH and resided in Alton for over 50 years.

He worked for Weeks Dairy for 37 years, holding several positions.

Charles has always enjoyed keeping life simple and will be fondly remembered for his passion for life and family, dedication, hard work, his heartwarming smile and unique sense of humor. He loved having a vegetable garden, mowing neighborhood lawns and watching baseball games from his porch each summer. His greatest joy was to be surrounded by his family, sitting at his kitchen table, they all meant everything to him, each one held something special in his heart.

Family members include: son, Charles “Russ” Noyes, Jr. & fiancee’ Lisa of Alton, granddaughter Faith & husband Mark Belcher & their sons: Nicholas & Landon of Apex, NC, grandson Timothy & wife Deanna Clement of Concord, expecting their first child in September, grandson: Joseph Clement of Pittsfield, granddaughter Katie & husband Shawn Wood & their daughter Liberty, expecting their second child in May, of Pittsfield granddaughter Sarah & husband Michael Wentworth & their children: Ashley & Michael , Jr. of Alton, son Gary & wife Terri Noyes of Alton, grandson: Gary Noyes, Jr. of New Durham, grandson: Steven & wife Wendy Noyes & their daughters Annabelle & Olivia of Alton, granddaughter Kimberly & husband Chris Sylvester & their daughter Emma of Dracut, MA, daughter Charlene & husband Harry Gordon, Jr. of Gilmanton, granddaughter Amanda Gordon, expecting her first son in July & fiancee’ Jacob Davis & his daughter Alexis Leduc of Dover, daughter Daneen Noyes of Somersworth, daughter Kristin & husband Shawn Thomas & their daughters Abigail & Mikayla of Alton, whom Charles lived with and was cared for the last four years, sister Virginia Tucker of Lakeport, brother Wesley Noyes, Jr. & wife Terry of Canterbury, sister in law Joyce Peverly of Laconia, brother in law Roland & wife Virginia Dore of Alton, also many Nieces and Nephews. Charles will also be greatly missed by many longtime friends and neighbors. He was predeceased by his wife Arlene (Dore) Noyes in July 1991, son Randy “Web” Noyes in October 1993 and grandson Harry Gordon, III in October 2002.

Calling hours are Friday from 4-8 pm at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School Street in Alton, NH. A Graveside Service will be held later in the spring at New Riverside Cemetery in Alton. What can I say except I loved your Dad right from the start. I have many of my own Pic stories from a long time ago! I can see him sitting around that table , working in the garden, and I can hear him telling his tales (some were kind of tall) I am glad to have been a part of your family.
