I MET RICHARD OVER 20 YEARS AGO ,THRU HIS BROTHER GERALD.HE HAD HIS HOUSE BOAT TIED UP IN BUTTE LAROSE.WE BECAME IMMEDIATE FRIENDS ,SHARING FISHING & HUNTING INFORMATION & SEEING WHICH ONE OF US COULD COME UP WITH THE BIGGEST B.S. STORY, GERALD USUALLY WON.NEVER DID I GO TO HIS HOUSE BOAT WITHOUT BEING OFFERED SOME FOOD OR BEER,AND DRINK BEER WE DID. THATS WHEN THE LAUGHTER REALLY STARTED. I WILL MISS YOU & THOSE TIMES.GOD BLESS THE OLIVIER FAMILY AT THIS TIME

About three years ago I watched curiously from my camp window as Richard carried board after board, along with several barrels down the bank and out of sight toward the lakefront. After a couple of hours I could no longer guess at what he was up to, so I walked over to investigate. After renewing old aquaintances I sat quietly and watched in amazement as he, without a written plan or drawing, built with his mind and hands a contraption that resembled a Rube Goldberg invention.
