I was very saddened to learn of Mr. Pearce's passing from my former classmate/teammate, George Councill. I had the great honor and pleasure of having Mr. Pearce for my basketball coach when he first arrived at Franklin High School (1966 - 1968). Although we were sorely disappointed that we did not go farther in our district tournament in 1968 after winning the regular season title, those are times that I shall never forget.
