I remember when Pete was a life guard in Seaside . We were raised right across the street and always had great laughs. ESP when Pete and John would throw cookies off the upstairs balcony hysterically laughing. RIP Pete Liz Reager Cruse

I knew Pete when he was a member of the N.C. Environmental Management Commission. Pete was just a tremendous resource for the State of North Carolina.

Pete was a highly-valued friend and colleague. We had often through the years discussed collaborating in retirement on several projects. He was a true conservationist, mentor to many, and exquisite interpreter of science to the general public. He will be so very missed. My condolences to Christine and all the family.

To the Petersen family: please know that all of you are in my prayers for God's Comfort and Peace in the trying days ahead.Dr.Petersen was a Faculty member in the Dept.Biology where I was employed.He was a very nice man and I know you will miss him.

My sympathy to the family on the loss of Charles, a wonderful person and admired scientist. He was one of my all-time favorite scientists who came by the Biology Accounting Office at UNC-CH on occasion. All of us in the office enjoyed hearing about his research. May the wonderful memories bring comfort to you all.

I remember Pete from the Marine Sciences program. So sorry to learn of his passing.
