Charlie was one of the mermaids/mermen at the YWCA. He loved talking about his family, the Democrats and the Stateliners. My nickname for him was St. Charlie as he was truly the patron saint of kindness. He was especially helpful to one of our severly disabled swimmers, Mary T.
