Charles Pickett

I loved my Dad more than my life. He is with me now everywhere and then sometimes he goes away for a while but he always comes back. He is Texas gentleman. Kind and stern. A little bit of Gus, a little bit of Woodrow, hell, a lil'bit of all of em. God Bless all who knew him and those that will know of him.

Charles sounded like a very engaged person. He was active and had many skills and wanted to know what was going on around him. His journalism experience and his love of history describes a person who wanted to understand life about him. Yet he had an appreciation for the quiet moments of family and pets. Our condolences to Alice and their children in this heavy time of grief.

Though I never knew Charles Pickett, I now feel I have met him through this descriptive obituary of a man who knew what he wanted in life. My most heartfelt condolences go to his wife, Alice, my dear friend, and to Gibson, Emily, and Grant as you go through this loss. May God's presence comfort you.
