I met Charles in the 70s´ in Springfield Mass: he was a fine gentlemen. May he rest in peace! A friend!!

I met Charlie Polite for just a short time in 1966 when he was a sparring partner for George Chuvalo. He was a friendly man who took the time to talk to a 15 year old boxing fan. I will always remember that. My condolences to his family. Marty S.

My condolences to the polite family. My Mother Bernice Ayers was a cousin of Mame Polite and they to they were my family and alway had respect and cousin polite would cut our hair when we were kids. Also I use see Charlie training at the Dunbar community center and the southend center as a kid he was this big gentle giant that use to talk to the kids about boxing and having discipline to stay on track so much respect for Charlie so my prayers are for the family at this time.
