PRATHER Charles Grant 'Dick' Prather, was an incredible father who, at the age of 67, left us too soon. He made us love the Florida storms, was the master of Slimey Worm (and other made-up games) and brought enthusiasm to cooking. He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Grant Prather in 2009...

Not sure what to say?

Dear Liz,
Thinking of you. The ones we love are always with us in our hearts and memories. I know how the pain ebbs and flows. So sorry for your terrible loss.

I did not know your dad, but what you wrote made me wish I had. Keeping you in our hearts.
Marty and Mary Ann

I first met Dick in 1976 or so at the time that he was a newscaster at Channel 17. He came to my belly dancing class in Orange Park to make a short new story about the class. He was so nice and friendly and made you feel at ease. Some years later I saw him in City Hall and he was working there. Then we both worked in the JEA building. I also remember a newspaper article about he and his family restoring a historical house in Jacksonville. I know he will be missed by many people. I will...

Elizabeth, I was very shocked to hear of the sudden death of your Father. I'm sure you heart must be heavy with sorrow. It was a privilege to have known your father and work with his at Citizens. With Deepest sympathy to you and your family. Linda Vaughan

I was very sorry to hear of Dick's passing. We had so much fun working at the Tax Collector's office when he was the manager for JEA payment processing especially on Saturdays!! and the parties he would throw for Halloween at the family home in Riverside were some of the best! I will always remember those fun times! May your memories be as happy and the sadness over before you know it.

I only knew Dick a short time before he decided to retire. I can say that he was a very conscientious business professional whenever I worked with him on a business problem. I really enjoyed speaking to him because he always had a great sense of humor. May God Bless his family & friends at this most difficult time. Rick

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Dick Prather. I met Dick when we both worked at WJKS-TV many years ago. My condolences to all of his family and friends. He was a very kind man.
