Not sure what to say?

It was with great sadness that I learned today of Charlie's passing. I am Laura Nicklas-Hine, granddaughter of Clarence Nicklas and his wife Wanda, who were good friends of Charlie back on Daisy Avenue. My Dad was Clarence Jr., and he passed away this morning. Just wanted to say that I remember going a few places with Charlie, his wife, and my grandparents, and Charlie was such a fine man. My condolences to you.

We will miss seeing Charlie at Sunday morning services at Brooklyn Presbyterian. He was such a fine gentleman.

5 generations.. what a blessing, not experienced by many.

My sincere condolences are with your family at this time. I will miss Charlies sense of humor, and his kidness to all he encountered. But, most of all I will miss his sitting at the head of the table blessing the food, at all the Mesiter family dinners I was attended. Charile was just part of the family. He will truly be missed. But, I know he is making himself part of the Cleveland Indians team to bring a championship to his beloved team.

I can see him in my mind driving that old Divco milk truck, wearing a gray Sealtest shirt. My brother Ned and I were permitted to call him Charlie, instead of Mr. Rager on his insistance, that our mom Elsie thought disrespectful. A kind word, a...

Your dad always had a kind word and a smile whenever we met - my thoughts and prayers are with the family members at this difficult time.
