WILL MISS HOM

Pug was one of the finest people I have ever met. I was so sorry to learn of his death.

Joseph L. Gorman, Sr., Bishop England, 1957.

Dear Ravenel Family,
As the son of another member of Harvard's Varsity Club Athletic Hall of Fame, my father and I thrilled to Charlie's exploits throughout his career at Harvard. Charlie embodied my father's ideal of the "scholar athlete" and was one of my first heroes. I have always remembered him and will continue.
I was excited to learn that Charlie was the cousin of one of my East Woods School classmates and friends, "Bucky" Weekes.
Please accept my sincere condolences and the...

Gifted athlete, leader, spark plug, river boat gambler,--then,as now--Charlie made us proud to be his teammates. His toughness and desire on the gridiron were matched by his charm, class and humanity as an individual and friend. Like his family and loved ones, his teammates are saddened by Charlie's death, but we share your gratitude that he was such a gift to our lives.
With prayers for your strength and for Charlie's Eternal peace.
Paul Kirk, Harvard '60

Susu,

So sorry to learn of Pug's passing. My deepest symapthy to you and all of the family.

My thoughts are with Pug's family and friends. He was one of the nicest people I have known. I ran his Aiken office for Governor through the primary then joined the staff in Columbia. We remained in contact until I settled in Canada. After that when connecting by chance whether in New Hampshire or Washington it was as though having seen each other just the week before instead of after the years that had passed. Thinking of Pug now brings back a memory I will share while smiling at the...

I was not able to come to Church to day
But I just want to tell you how sorry i have been learning
Pug's death
He was a great man and was so nice to us when we move to Charleston.
He will be greatly missed
My prayers and thoughts are with you

Pug and I were friends, classmates and teammates at Bishop England High School..The last time I saw him we had a nice visit and talked about the football and basketball games weplayed.
we recalled our fellow teammates and coaches and the good times we had. So sorry to read about his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with the family .

Sorry for your family's loss. Pug stayed with my family overnight at EHS in Virginia in the late 50's on his way to university. I rode the train with him back to Va a few times on vacations from boarding school. Such a nice person, always. I saw a harvard / yale game on TV- maybe his senior year. RIP, COUSIN ♥
