I just learned of this news and I am deeply saddened. Charlie will be greatly missed by many. His service to the nation and to the community, his leadership, friendship and energy touched and influenced so many and I am very grateful to have known him. My deepest sympathy to Nancy, Phil and Sam, Kathy and Sue. RIP!

Remember me? Charlie found me at the polls in Bethlehem's 15-2 when I was 12, in 1968, handing out photocopies I had made of the Globe Times endorsement of Richard Nixon. In three years I was stae vice chairman of the Teen Age Republicans, thanks to Charlie! I spent many evenings in your home at Parkhurst stuffing envelopes. He introduced me to Swedish meatballs at the Livingston Club in Allentown and I remember barnstorming through the Slate Belt on...

When I was a young man at the Beta house Chiz was a lot of help to me. He was also a big help in my successful campaign for Lehigh County Commissioner. I will miss my friend of many years. -- Phil

Chalie Roberts inspired us all and kept us moving. He was a true patriot and I have no doubt that he is in good compny in that shining city on the hill.
