DECATUR - Charles R. Roberts, 90, of Decatur, IL, formerly of Niantic, IL passed away at 6:07 P.M. on Sunday, July 16, 2006 in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Dawson & Wikoff Colonial Chapel North, Decatur with visitation from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery, Niantic. Mr. Roberts was born on December 26, 1915 in Niantic, IL, the son of Rufus and Rosetta (Ervin) Roberts. He attended Browns Business College. He was a Farmer in Niantic for 42 years, member of Macon County Farm Bureau and was a life-long member of Niantic Christian Church. He married Helen Louise Ernst on January 1, 1940. She preceded him in death in 2002. Surviving are his three sons, Roy Roberts and wife Lori of Decatur, IL; Raymond Eugene Roberts and wife Patricia of Springville, UT and Ronald Charles Roberts and wife Martha of Omaha NE; six grandchildren, Jonathan Roberts, Micah Roberts, Kirsten Roberts, Kaitlyn Roberts, Jeffrey Roberts and Marc Roberts; five great grandchildren, Bailey Roberts and Dylan Roberts, Luke Roberts, Grace Roberts and Ian Roberts; step-grandchildren, Kathy Carothers, Mary Siversten, Wendy Ann Roberts, David Turinton, Ted Rundquist, Dex Rundquist and Kelli Rundquist. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, his wife, one brother and three sisters. Obituary written by family members.
