When I heard about Charles passing I made a mistake in my note. Charles served on the USS Bryce Canyon AD 36 home ported in Long Beach, Calif. I had written it was the USS Piedmont, but that was our sister ship in San Diego, Calif. I tried to correct it at the time, but was not able to get back in. Charles was a great lifelong friend and I still miss him.

I met Chuck in 1995, I knew just with a hand shake and his smile, I met one outstanding person controling the south complexes at the cape. I'll miss the truthfulness, do anything for you,type guy that he was.I know that he will help keep heaven in control and I'll be looking for that handshake greeting me again. Glenn Pursifull

I am soo happy that I got a chance to meet Chuck. Gigi talked about him all the time.I know that he truly loved his family and that they loved him as well.His sense of humor was fantastic, and those are the memories that we should all remember.I will keep the family in my prayers always.

Sorry to heard about Chuck (Charles ) passing. He was so filled with laughs and jokes. Worked with him at SGS for 15 years. He always would make me laugh on my bad days. He will be deeply missed .I'll pray for the family. God Bless Charlene Killough (Cocoa FL)

We were sorry to hear about Charles passing. Charles and I were buddies from the first grade! We graduated from High School together and four of us,(Charles Rollen, John Burke, David Ireland and Joe McLain) joined the Navy and went through boot camp together. Charles was on the USS Piedmont, John Burke and I were on the USS Prairie and David Ireland was on the USS Boxer, but we would all get together usually in San Diego as often as we could.
