Fr. Roper was my parish priest when I was a teen attending Holy Ctoss in Decatur. I used to babysit for their (at that time) three children while Fr and Mrs Roper joined another couple for an evening playing music together. Michael would always greet me with "how be's ya be?" which I still use was a greeting. I cannot express what a profound influence Fr. The Reverend Charlie Roper was my and Sally´s priest at St. Thomas Church where he solemnized our happy marriage. His sermons were profound and the cadence of their delivery, moving. His counsel changed our lives forever for the better. We shared a love for music and design and remained friends after he left St. Thomas for Atlanta to become Canon to the Ordinary.
