You are someone I will never forget.

Hello Chuck, I think of you and your wife often. I remember many wonderful things you shared with everyone you know. Mostly I think about how you pioneered the project "Telescopes for Tanzania" and all the work you did there. I have started working with some teachers in Uganda. We use lots of robotic telescopes but it would really be nice to have them have the real thing! Thanks for being you! Bonnie Thurber

Betty and I are very sad to hear of Chuck's passing. We so enjoyed supporting the Telescopes for Tanzania project through the Astronomical League.
We have great memories of the times we were able to spend with you and Chuck at the Heart of America Star Party.

I was so sad to learn of Chuck's death on the day of his funeral. As classmates at Wartburg, he and Sue were great colleagues in learning to fight racism through the Namibia Concerns Committee and Lutheran Human Relations Assoc. I believe we were present together at the ALC churchwide assembly in Minneapolis when a standing vote was taken against apartheid in South Africa. What a memorable moment! I always pictured the Ruehles carrying on the good fight in the Greater Milwaukee Synod. ...

Sleep well Chuck. I was looking forward to finally meet you but I know one day we will meet somewhere else. Thank you for your service in Tanzania. The legacy will go on.May God give your family strength and will to go on. This is a big loss to UNAWE-Tanzania and the community who believed and share your passion to bring revolution in Tanzania education system especially in Science arena.

It was a pure honor and inspiration to meet Chuck through his Telescopes to Tanzania project. Chuck was a true blessing to this planet in the way he engaged others from around the world in collaborative actions to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
