Proctor Funeral Home - Camden Obituary

Charles Thomas Russell, Sr. went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2023 surrounded by his children. He was born to Lillie Bell & Ethan (Pickle) Russell in Huttig, Arkansas on March 27, 1933.

He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy, his son Charles Thomas Russell, Jr. (Tommy), both his parents, and his sisters Jacquelyn and Shirley.

He is survived by 3 of his children, Marlon Russell (Marty) of Camden, Nanette Morrow of Little Rock, and Cheryl Wood of Bearden. He has 8 grandchildren; Ashleigh Wilmoth (Nathan), Jamie Sullivan (Jesse), Briar Morrow (Brittany), Russell Norsworthy (Karah), NaTasha Pham (Nick), Terry Wood, Jed Morrow, Addison Wood and 17 great grandchildren.

He was a Navy veteran who served in the Korean War. When he finished his tour in the Navy, he began working for an offshore drilling company, now known as Chevron, working his way up from a rough neck to the Drilling Superintendent. He has worked in and visited more places than I can count, including Africa, Egypt, Singapore, Alaska, Brazil, Paris, and London. A world traveler he was, but he put nothing and no one above his family; all of us, the good, the bad and the ugly. He took responsibility for us all. We will deeply miss this deeply loyal, very smart, and very loving man. With all our love, until we meet again.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM Friday, August 11, 2023 at Harper Springs Cemetery on Harper Springs Road near Huttig, AR.
