I am his youngest daughter Mary...I loved him so very much! I was by his side at Vassar Hospital when he passed...he went peacefully. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done but I will never regret it and thank God for the privilege! He was a hard worker all his life ..master Carpenter I am so proud to be his daughter!! I really miss him,but he is at peace with God now and finally reunited with my Mom Agnes who died in 1960.

Please accept my condolences for your loss of Sargent Sackett.
I too remember him as if it was yesterday. I served with him from 1963 to 1969, in the 854th. He was the kind of man that stays in your mind for a life time.
He will be in my thoughts and prayers as will his family and loved ones.
