Not sure what to say?

My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. I feel as though I grew up with Charlie as he taught my brother Bobby, who was blind, to play the accordion on a weekly basis in the late 60's to mid 70's. He was a very kind man.

It was a pleasure working with Charlie at Kutztown University from 1986-to his retirement. Great role model. Loved talking to him. Our condolences to the family. Howard and Cherie Deemer. Easton.Pa

To the Scanzello Family:
Sorry to learn of the passing of Mr. Scanzello.
I have many fond memories of him when I was in the Marching Band/Concert Bands -1972-1976. I especially enjoyed playing in the Clarinet Ensemble.
Lots of good times and will remember him always.

He started my love of jazz in the 70's that continues to this day. Marge (Papsun) Gore

There are not many people like my Uncle Charlie - a truly unique individual with such talent, charm, wit, passion, compassion, sense of humor, and an overall demeanor appreciated by all. He got away with saying and pretty much doing anything; a skill I wish I had. ;) As my dad's best friend, I've known him my whole life and I feel fortunate to have enjoyed him and his wonderful family all these years. I knew it was always going to be a fun, interesting visit with Uncle Charlie, and at the...

I worked with Charlie several summers at KU. He was a funny, gregarious, and caring man. An endless fountain of Haiku!

My condolences to Angela. The English faculty grieves with you for your loss.

Thinking of all of you as you negotiate life with out Charlie. may God grant you forever comforting and healing memories to fill the emptiness of Charlie's passing. We have missed his laughter and poems. With love and prayers,

Charlie was very special. We spent 3 weeks in Italy in '98 with Dr Bellardo's group. He enjoyed teaching and reading Haiku to the group. He kindly insisted on buying me a cappuccino every day. After the trip he had 2 of us students over to his home for breakfast where he enjoyed having his stereo turned up loud! Some very fond memories. -Mike Krissinger

I am so sorry for your loss! I enjoyed Professor Scanzello's KU music class! Also, he attended many of my college softball games. I enjoyed hearing him cheering me on from the bleachers! My deepest condolences to your family. Jen (Hummel) Thomas Class of '98
