Truly sorry to hear of his passing. Spent time with him summers as young boys.He was my cousin and we visited many times from my home in Illinois. Got to fish with him and his Dad , My Uncle Marvin. Very sad for his family, God Bless.

Oh, Maggie, my heart breaks for you. I only knew Charlie through you and through his writing, but I knew him to be a special man who loved his family deeply, and cared greatly for those suffering from the ravages of dementia. His unique gift was his touch of humor to ease the way in even the most trying situations.
May God be with you and your family and bring you comfort and peace.

This is a shock that rattles my soul. It will not soon subside.

Charles ... you were a very important voice for me when I was struggling with how to stay engaged with and express my love for my mother as she was overcome with a slowly progressing dementia.
