Charles was a lovely man, so interesting and articulate and gracious to me the few times I saw him when I happened to be in Madison to visit his son, Mike, and when I also happened to be using Charles's prime seat beside Mike at Badgers games. Charles was very generous about that and seats were amazing. I'd never seen a Big 10 football game and it was quite an experience.
