Not sure what to say?

I remember Chuck as a pitcher for the Tigers when I was 10. Always rooted for him. I thought of him today as I played Immaculate Grid. Used Chuck for answer: pitched at least one game in Majors/ only played for one team. After finishing game I googled Chuck. Sad to see that he has passed away, but very pleased that he lives such a important and fulfilling life.

Chuck and I met as pitchers on the Toledo Mudhens in 1970. We shared being right-handed hurlers, and having ivy league diplomas, and having a similar sense of humor. We became friends who would get together after our baseball days ended, and we thereafter saw each other every year for 50 years until 2024. I visited Chuck a month before he passed away. I did not know then that would be my last chance.

Through the five decades, we enjoyed watching sporting events and besting...

I met Chuck as a young boy when he was a counselor at a summer boys camp (Tonset) on Cape Cod while he was playing for the Orleans Cardinals in the Cape League (summer 1967 or 1968). The camp owner used to take us down to the local field to watch him pitch. He also coached our little league camp team. He was awesome with the kids - he was the best. I also vividly recall watching his pitch v. Oakland in the 72 playoffs as a young high school pitcher. I´m very sorry to hear of his passing....

Condolences to the Seelbach family from the Dartmouth Class of 1970

Peggy, I am sorry for your loss. You and I were friends a zillion years ago.

Chuck was my close friend and teammate in both football and baseball from 1960 to 1966 and close friend until his recent passing. He was a great guy and great leader on the sports fields. While I wasn't around US much since I moved to Colorado in 1975, I know that US was and is a better place because of Chuck's coaching and teaching. He was a fun classmate, and I smile today when I think of him telling Dick McCrea that it was time to "wrap it up" and let us get to our next class... Chuck will...

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

I met Chuck in September 1962, when I was a scrawny, naive seventh grader starting at US, and he was one of the cool ninth graders (with his cousin Bill and close friend Dave Schreiner, among others) who exuded a sense of humor and sarcasm that was completely new to me. We West Siders commuted together to Shaker, first by light rail, then by car pool through his graduation in 1966. Chuck was the consummate big man on campus, admired not only for his superb athletic process, swimming butterfly...

I entered US as a freshman and immediately took an interest in Chuck as I remembered him beating my by almost a length in a summer AAU swim meet in Berea months before. Little did I know how prodigious his talents were: a gifted tight end and especially a world class pitcher. We need played many and sundry card games on the team swimming bus where he also excelled. I was proud to get to know him during the swimming season especially as he was really guarded socially in my view. His wit...
