Not sure what to say?

I only learned of Charlie's death today (August 13). I am so sorry. Charlie was one of the kindest people I met in my 35 year association with the service, and one of the best and fairest professionals. We all have lost a ray of sunlight in our days.

A wonderful guy. Forever proud to have supported him in the field. Thoughtful, kind, loving to all who knew him. He was a terrific officer and great mentor. My deepest sympathy to Mary and family. RIP dear Charlie. You are greatly missed by all.

Charlie was one of the beautiful ones: gifted and compassionate, a true American hero and a friend. We will miss you.

Remembering Charles for his service to this country. Condolences to his friends, co-workers and family. R.I.P.

A brilliant practitioner of our age-old craft, steeped in knowledge and understanding, and yet so humble at his core. His lasting impression was one deep kindness and a luminous joy in life and in those around him. Goodbye, old friend. You will always be with us.

There are limited times in our lives when we know we are in the presence of someone who is good through and through, Charlie was that guy. My family is praying for...

Cherished Friend Bouquet- VASE INCLUDED

One in a million - a man for all seasons, all people, Charlie made the world a much better and safer place in which to live.
I was devastated to hear the news of his sudden passing. I had the honor of working several years abroad with him. He made an indelible impression on everyone he met. He will be greatly missed forever in our hearts.
My deepest condolences to Mary, Charlie, Matthew and Christine.

RIP Sir Charles, you were a hero, friend, and mentor to Cynthia and me. You were the true Lawrence of Arabia, with an understanding of the culture and people of the Middle East that was unmatched in the USG. We worked for you in New York, Cairo, and Baghdad, visited with you in Amman, and had an amazing 2 weeks in the Cape with all of our families after we all returned from Baghdad. All of these memories we will cherish forever. I am so happy I spoke to you at the end of April, as...
